Information for Poster Presenters

Poster Sessions

All posters must be in position by the morning of 28th Sep 2008 and will remain on display for the duration of the meeting. If your poster is not in place, your poster will not be reviewed by the judges for the poster prizes.

All presenters MUST be at their posters at the specified times (see Poster Programme page). If, for any reason, you are unable to be at your poster at the designated times you MUST put a note on the board advising delegates of an alternative session time when you will be available.

Removal of posters: Posters must be removed on 30th Sep 14:30 - 15:00. After this time, any poster which has not NOT been removed may be taken down and disposed of.

Once again, can we remind you that you should NOT leave poster tubes or cases in the poster areas. The organisers will not be held responsible for any losses which may be incurred.

Poster Boards

Poster Board dimensions: 1m wide x 1.2m high (3ft 3in x 4ft) on legs.

Fixing method: Appropriate fixing material will be supplied at the HUGO/Registration Desk.

Poster Preparation Guidelines

Don't forget the two Poster Competitions.

  • The heading of the poster should include your title, authors, and addresses/affiliations
  • Choose the key message(s) that you wish to convey (no more than 3 typically)
  • Use headings to highlight each point
  • Keep text to a minimum - do not simply enlarge an abstract
  • Make use of graphs, charts, tables, and columns
  • Keep lettering as large as possible, at least 2-3cm to make your poster readable from about 1m away
  • Make use of colour to highlight key points
  • Remember, there will be several hundred posters. Those that make a quick impression with a clear message are more likely to be noticed

Abstract Submission...

Full details of abstract submission and review status are on the Abstracts page.

Warning

Alert Icon. Presenters are strongly advised NOT to leave their poster tubes or cases in the poster areas. The organisers will not be held responsible for any losses which may be incurred.
