Overview of Workshop 8

Epigenomics

Co-chairs: V Brahmachari and Christian Muchardt

Epigenomics is taking the centre stage in understanding genome function in general and in the context of genetic diseases and cancers. Epigenetic factors add variability to gene function, over and above that brought about by genetic polymorphism and mutations. Under the Workshop session" Epigenomics" we welcome abstracts that discuss the identification and role of epigenetic modifications both at DNA and protein level, that impact gene function in health and disease including cancers. Abstracts discussing modifier genes and complexes mediating epigenetic modifications are also welcome.
